Summary

The Director, Medical Content & Training (MCT) Excellence and Innovation is responsible for driving a high level of functional excellence by implementing and maintaining operational processes and identifying the latest digital tools and technologies to support MCT activities. The Director serves as primary functional partner and MCT subject matter expert for the MCT integrated technology ecosystem and partners with the Digital Strategy & Innovation team for deployment and maintenance of fit-for-purpose, best-in-class digital solutions. The role will focus on designing strategic and tactical plans for optimizing global MCT operations, processes and technology based on expert knowledge of opportunities and challenges within the function, company and external healthcare and industry trends. The Director will be responsible for executing these plans in partnership with cross-functional teams and in alignment with the department's medical and digital strategies. This role will own, optimize, and manage day-to-day operations of MCT technology/digital projects as business function lead, in collaboration with Digital Strategy & Innovation, to align on goals and partner to deliver cohesive digital solutions. This role will also drive MCT operational excellence, process optimization, budgeting, reporting, and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Define the MCT functional digital need roadmap, utilizing expertise in Medical Affairs activities and experience addressing customer needs

  • Serve as the functional business lead for MCT technology solutions; lead the MCT contributions in solution implementation, in partnership with the Digital Strategy Innovation team

  • Act as a subject matter expert in MCT function and technology, providing support to internal and external customers and contributing to training and knowledge sharing activities

  • Lead the standardization and improvement of MCT operations; responsible for maintaining and updating relevant documentation as it relates to global MCT policies and procedures

  • Define key reports and insights from MCT systems; track and communicate key metrics

  • Proactively identify potential MCT system and operations issues and risks, communicate appropriately to digital partners and governance team, and develop and execute mitigation strategies in partnership with these teams, as needed

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across multiple functions and varying tactical and leadership roles, to optimize team effectiveness in overall project execution (eg, Digital Strategy and Innovation, IT, Compliance, Regional MA partners)

Qualifications : Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)

  • PharmD, PhD or MD required, or MS in Health Sciences may be considered with additional experience required

Experience Qualifications

  • 10 or More Years overall related experience or commensurate education/experience required

  • 4 or More Years experience in a medically-related field including industry experience in Medical Affairs required

  • experience in medical content/communications required

  • global experience preferred

  • Successful track record of leading Medical Affairs technology/digital/omnichannel solutions projects is strongly preferred

  • Experience establishing global business processes, communication/change management/project plans to ensure functional and organizational needs are defined and measured is strongly required

  • Oncology experience strongly preferred

  • Experience working successfully in partnership with cross-functional teams to achieve results is required and influencing senior stakeholders preferred

Travel

Ability to travel up to 30% conference and meeting-specific
